The replaceable magnesium sacrificial anode concept has had an established history as an electrolysis inhibitor. 

Typical Proteus installations are made where municipal water systems enter the building site. Proteus® systems can be designed for any flow-rate up to 12-inch diameter pipes & can operate on pressure up to 250 pounds per square inch (psi).
